Agency After Amen

Question what you inherited. Steer what comes next.

You do not need a new authority to replace the old one. You need to trust yourself enough to steer.

  • No guru.Josh will not hand you another doctrine or ask you to build a life that looks like his.
  • Honest questions.Together, you name what is no longer true and what fear has kept difficult to admit.
  • Practical action.Insight becomes a decision, a next step, and evidence that your judgment can be trusted.
Questioning what shaped you is not betrayal. You owe no one the performance of a self that is no longer true.

One central idea.
Three ways to use it.

Choose the path that matches the change in front of you. Every conversation begins with clarity, not a pitch.

Behind the curtain

I became a pastor looking for truth.

The life I inherited

I was born into a faith that answered life's biggest questions before I was old enough to ask them. It told me what was true, who I should become, and what a good life was supposed to look like.

The turning point

I did not merely attend church. I became a pastor. I believed moving closer to the institution would move me closer to truth. Instead, I saw how often preservation mattered more than character, image more than honesty, and certainty more than curiosity.

The choice after certainty

Questioning became an act of integrity. Eventually that honesty reached beyond faith and into my marriage, work, sobriety, and identity.

Walking away did not give me certainty. It gave me responsibility.

Now I coach and speak for people standing at the edge of their own questions. I will not tell you what to believe next. I will help you trust yourself enough to choose.

Bring the real question.

You do not need to have the answer before we talk. You only need to know that the life, work, or direction you inherited no longer fits.
